Facial Waxing
Facial waxing at Hanna Madison Salon covers brows, lip, chin, and the soft hair across the face. Brow shape is built around your bone structure, not a stencil or a trend, and we take hair off in stages rather than committing to a thin line in one sitting. Available in Columbus, GA alongside your hair appointment.
How we shape brows
Most brow regret comes from taking too much in one appointment. We map the shape to where your brow naturally starts, arches, and ends, then remove only what is outside it. If you are growing brows back after years of over plucking, the first visit is usually about cleaning up rather than reshaping.
A typical appointment includes:
- A look at your natural shape and a conversation about how strong you like your brows.
- Mapping, so both sides are working toward the same shape rather than being done independently.
- Waxing, then tweezing the strays that wax cannot take cleanly.
- A soothing product afterward to calm the skin.
Before you come in
- Let the hair grow to a few weeks. Wax needs something to grip, and a too-short regrowth means a patchy result.
- Tell your stylist about any retinol, acids, or acne medication you use. These thin the skin and change what is safe to wax.
- Skip heavy sun exposure or a fresh tan on the area right before.
- If you are prone to redness, book with a little time before an event rather than the same morning.
Afterward
Some redness for a few hours is normal, more so on the lip than the brow. Avoid heavy makeup on the area, hot showers, and heavy sweating for the rest of the day. Keep the area clean and skip exfoliating acids on it for a couple of days.
Most guests come back every three to four weeks, though it varies a lot by person. Waxing on a consistent cycle gives a cleaner result than waiting until regrowth is heavy.
Adding it to a hair appointment
Waxing is quick, so most guests add it to a color or cut visit rather than making a separate trip. Mention it when you book so the time is allowed rather than squeezed in at the end. The front desk can tell you what fits.
Who to book with
Call 706-604-1862 and the front desk will book you with a stylist who has waxing availability that day, or see the full team page. Owners Hanna and Madison both still take clients.

Waxing prices are listed by area on the Service Menu, the single place we keep numbers.
Common questions
How long does the hair need to be?
A few weeks of growth is the usual guidance. Wax needs enough length to grip. If it is too short the result comes out patchy and you will be back sooner than you want to be.
Does it hurt?
Briefly. The brow and lip are the more sensitive areas and it is over quickly. It is generally less uncomfortable the more consistently you go, because the regrowth comes in finer and more evenly.
I use retinol. Can I still be waxed?
Tell your stylist before the appointment. Retinol, acids, and some acne medications thin the skin, and waxing over them can lift skin rather than just hair. Depending on what you use, you may need to pause it for a period first.
How often should I come back?
Most people land on every three to four weeks, but it varies a lot. Going on a consistent cycle rather than waiting for heavy regrowth gives a cleaner shape and a more comfortable appointment.
Can you fix over plucked brows?
We can shape what is there and give you a plan for growing the rest back, which usually means leaving them alone longer than you would like between visits. Be honest about how long they have been over plucked, since that affects what will grow back.
